America 250 Community Grant Opportunity for Solomon Organizations

As the United States prepares to celebrate its 250th anniversary in 2026, Dickinson County is launching the America 250 Community Grant Program to support local celebrations and projects throughout the county — including right here in Solomon.
This grant opportunity is designed to help communities create meaningful events and initiatives that honor our nation’s history while bringing residents together.
Who Can Apply?
Eligible applicants include:
- Cities and community organizations
- Nonprofit groups and service clubs
- Historical societies
- Schools
- Community-led groups and volunteer organizations
Projects must take place in Dickinson County during 2026.
If you are part of a Solomon-based club, church group, civic organization, or community initiative, this may be an opportunity to support your plans for 2026.
Funding Available
A total of $30,000 in countywide funding is available through two grant levels:
Micro Grants ($500–$1,500)
For smaller efforts such as decorations, banners, flags, marketing, or single-day events.
Community Project Grants ($1,500–$3,500)
For larger initiatives such as murals, public art, interpretive signage, oral history projects, or multi-day heritage celebrations.
A local match is encouraged and may include cash, in-kind donations, or documented volunteer hours.
Funding will be awarded on a rolling basis until funds are fully allocated.
Application Timeline
Applications open March 1, 2026.
Organizations are encouraged to begin planning now.
